The CPI conference this year placed emphasis on decarbonization and data governance. With sustainability being a long-established priority for us, and AI becoming more important to our business by the month, the conference’s priorities aligned with our own. They also included a few new events we were eager to attend, namely the ACC’s  “Standards, Certifications, and Decarbonization in the Polyurethanes Industry” panel and professional development courses about bio-based raw materials, and AI applications and governance. We’re also always interested in the awards; there’s a lot to learn from seeing what awards are given, who won them, and what they accomplished to receive the honor. This year, the ACC named Algenesis Labs’ Soleic the 2025 Polyurethane Innovation Award winner, recognizing them for a bio-based polyurethane platform with excellent end-of-life degradability. For the 2025 Distinguished Leadership Award for long-running work on polyurethane raw-material testing and methods, the ACC honored Huntsman’s David Mullen, which we felt was well-deserved considering the importance of this work to achieving consistent QA across the value chain.
